Dr. Joshlene Sandhu Airis Eye - Eye Doctor Bellevue WA

I was born and raised in Vancouver, British Columbia. I attended York House School and then continued to Simon Fraser University, where I received my Bachelors degree in Applied Science. I moved to Chicago and attained my Doctor of Optometry Degree in 2002. After graduation, I moved to New York City and completely fell in love with the area. During this time, I practiced at The Eyecare Center of New Jersey and Park Avenue Eye Institute for 14 years in a medical eye care setting. My time on the east coast was transformative. I am married (he’s an eye doctor, but we try not to talk shop), and we have three children together: Isabella, Aaron, and Ryan. I was also able to meet amazing lifelong friends that have given me more than I could have asked for. Leaving the east coast was one of the most difficult things I had to do, but I recognized the importance of family and moved back to be closer to mine in 2014.

Bellevue has given me an opportunity to grow as a mother, a physician, and an entrepreneur. Yes, my allergies are crazy here, but I love the stability and calm it has given my family.

I have extensive experience in family eye care, including pediatric eye examinations, contact lens fitting, eye surgery co-management and adult eye care. However, I always say to my patients if I can’t figure it out, I will guide you in the right direction. I genuinely care about my patients and want only the best for them.

I love reading historical literature, watching TV, eating (yes, I consider it a hobby), listening to loud music (usually dance or Bollywood), and taking naps (which never happens). I believe in making the world a little better with laughter, joy, and perspective. I am so excited to bring Airis Eye to all of you.

Michelle Lew

NP Medical Director Airis Aesthetics

Michelle Lew is a board certified family nurse practitioner for 10 years. She received her Master’s in Nursing from Gonzaga University. She started out in aesthetics as a registered nurse working with various plastic surgeons in the operating room, post-ops appointments, and injecting neurotoxins and fillers. She also has experience working in orthopedics and in a GI lab. While she loves the surgical setting, Michelle wanted to be able to of more for her patients. She went back to school to become a nurse practitioner in primary care and urgent care.

Her love for aesthetics never went away and she is excited to go back into this role to help people improve their confidence.

Michelle grew up in West Seattle and currently lives in Bellevue with her husband and three young children. When she is not working or being a chauffeur for her children, she enjoys taking naps and trying new foods.

Michelle’s philosophy for patient care is to listen to her patient. She believes that everyone wants different things and her role is to present realistic options and provide information to make inform decisions. She is excited to be part of the Airis Family and can’t wait to work with everyone here.

Sarah Mpare

FNP-C, MSN, Medical Director

I come from a small town in Eastern Washington called Otis Orchards in the Spokane Valley. I attended Whitworth University and Washington State University, where I received my Bachelor and Master Degree in Nursing. I am a Certified Family Nurse Practitioner with over 20 years of experience working with children and adults in both hospital and outpatient settings; including cardiac disease, dermatology, general family practice, and care and management of otologic diseases. Most recently I worked in the specialty of Ear, Nose, and Throat Medicine along side surgical medical providers.

My husband, Michael Mpare, is a software engineer and business owner who needed to be closer to the software industry. So we moved our family to the Eastside 10 years ago to be closer to the software hub and to enjoy the diversity of the Greater Seattle area.

When I’m not at work you will find me paddling on Lake Sammamish, volunteering with the Evergreen A’s Model A Club, attending my son’s rowing regattas, watching my daughter’s volleyball matches, or walking the dog at Marymoor dog park.

I genuinely love people and enjoy the journey as a healthcare partner.
